Trend Following

Starting to take a serious look...

Trend traders don't try to "predict" anything, they don't know and don't care. They have no feelings about the market, and no bias. Ask a trend trader "do you think the market will go up or down?" and he will tell you, "doesn't matter." Trend traders IMHO are the only one of the 4 types who make money LONG TERM. Trend traders are market direction agnostic. They don't fall in love with anything; when their bat signal beeps, they enter; when it tells them to exit, they exit. THAT'S IT. They don't care about the underlining commodity or currency, the market direction, the pundits, the market sentament, they don't care about any of that. They care about confirmation trend direction and riding it out.


that makes A LOT of sense to me.

anyone with any experience in this kind of trading? i am only just starting to take a look and at this point i dont even know what "indicators" are used.

but it not only looks like a serious method of making profits in forex - i am betting it transfers well to other markets (maybe futures?) which my hedged-carry strategy does not.
